This new sweater from Patta screams early 2000s and it’s fantastic. Its striped body is reminiscent of staple menswear pieces and the chest embroidery ramps it up even further. Patta bares all up front: an ’04 calling out to their founding year and crossed flags depicting the St. Andrew’s Crosses of their Amsterdam home base. On that, the red and white striped body is itself a callback to the colours of the flag of Amsterdam. The rest of the text nods to their other flagship locations in Milan, London and Lagos.
Rich storytelling aside, the sweater is a solid piece with its knitted construction and ribbed neck, cuffs and hem. Its 100% cotton yarn body is easy to maintain and makes an effective mid-layer or standalone piece.
